Today a Niagara-based artist after 40 years in Toronto, Natalia developed her passion for photography during a teaching career which included the Visual Arts.
Embracing the digital age, Natalia enjoys taking some of her images past the original shot to express her personal vision. Where opportunities arise, she uses her photography in support of the environment, the protection of Ontario’s prime farmland and her personal political beliefs.
Rural and northern landscapes, tree portraits and nature in urban spaces are just some of the subjects that command Natalia’s attention in her work.
Natalia’s images are frequently on exhibit in photo and art shows around the Golden Horseshoe.
Her work has been published in Local, a Toronto east end public interest magazine and has been accepted into the Aids Committee of Toronto’s SNAP photography Silent Auction in both 2012 & 2013. The Melancthon Potato Field Tree was the banner image of the group spearheading the Anti Mega Quarry movement in their efforts to save prime farmland from being lost to a huge aggregate mine in Melancthon Township. It still graces bill boards in Melancthon township reminding locals and visitors that food & water come first before commercial development.
